Forscher erwarten eine dramatische Entwicklung bis zum Jahr 2050,
die Menschen und Tiere gefährdet. Laut einer Studie der Ellen-McArthur-Stiftung
wird 2050 mehr Plastikmüll als Fische in den Ozeanen schwimmen.
Schon jetzt gelangen jährlich mindestens acht Millionen Tonnen
Plastik in die Meere. Dabei handelt es sich meist um Verpackungsmaterial.
Die Umweltorganisation WWF warnt, dass nicht nur Fische, Seevögel
und Schildkröten am Plastikmüll vereenden werden.

Scientists expect a dramatic development until to the year 2050, which will be harmful to human beings and animals. Due to studies of Ellen-McArthur-Stiftung there will be more plastic garbage in the oceans than fish. Already up to date a minimum of eight million tons of plastic reach is reaching the Oceans, the most of it packaging material. The environmental organisation WWF is warning, that not only fish, seabird and turtles will be perish due to plastic garbage.
